The IC200MDD840 is a discrete input and output module manufactured by General Electric Intelligent Platforms as part of the VersaMax series of components. This device has 20 discrete inputs and 12 relay outputs. Inputs for this device are grouped into two rows of 10. These input points come in two different types: positive logic and sourcing-type. The input points receive electrical current from the attached devices and then return the electrical current on the common. The 12-relay outputs for this device are divided into two groups of six points, with each group able to sustain a maximum of eight amperes.
The physical dimensions for this device are as follows: 4.3 inches (110 millimeters) wide, 2.63 inches (66.8 millimeters) tall, and 1.956 inches (50 millimeters) deep. Note: These dimensions do not include the carrier height or mating connections.
This device draws power directly from the rack-mounted connection backplane; however, an external power supply will be required for all output loads. The input voltage for this device is 24 volts direct current (VDC). The output voltage for this device varies from 0 to 125 VDC, with 5, 24, and 125 VDC being nominal; and 0 to 265 volts alternating current (VAC), with 120 and 240 VAC being nominal. When inputs and outputs are in the “on” state, the current is 2.0 to 5.5 milliamps, and the current for the “off” state is 0 to 0.5 milliamps.
Processing for this device is handled by either a central processing unit (CPU) or network interface unit (NIU). The IC200MDD840 does not support channel-to-channel isolation, nor does it possess protection measures such as internal fuses or snubbers.
